First of all, I wanted to apologize for those who had inquired about the job opportunity that I blogged about last month. I hope you still have the patience to wait since opportunities do not come as soon as possible.

I also wanted to apologize if in any way, I have claimed myself as an expert in terms of blogging. I may not notice that but I know there are times that I brag about my accomplishments. I am sure I bragged positively. If I offended you, just let me know.

The reason why this topic came up on my mind because I wanted to share to you something I have learned while joining blogging contests especially on the mini-seo contest in Capiz. I already discussed some issues on other blogging contests but this seo contest was a lot worse.

Oh, I forgot to congratulate the winners of the Busby SEO Challenge and the Cebu SEO Contest. Congratulations.

Back to the issue on the mini-seo contest in Capiz. A lesson that I have learned from this contest was humility. Bloggers should learn to be humble. Since bloggers are exposed all over, I will not be hiding names anymore. I have to say what I need to say. The mentioned names can say what they want, too. but now, I need to tell my side of story.

It began when Renan of Renantech.com stumbled on my profile at IloiloBloggers.com. We were in good terms and he was even at my guestbook. I really tried to have patience with him but I got fed up already. It seems like he wanted to be spoon fed and not to learn on his own. I am a self-educated blogger and I believed that he could do the same. But still he kept asking questions that were so basic and cannot wait to be informed if I have something to offer for him. You could see that through his comments on my blog. So, I told him that he was annoying me and he stopped asking a lot of questions.

It did not stop there. Renan told me of his friend Bleuken of Bleuken.com. He said that Bleuken was into seo. I had no interest in seo so I did not mind. It was then that Bleuken invited me to the mini-seo contest in Capiz. Out of curiosity on seo, I joined the contest.

The contest was becoming a controversy because of one participant that was upset that his entry was being copied. That participant was “Master of The”. He called himself by that name. Just Google the keyword “masterofthe” or “master of the” to look for him. I knew that copying one’s content without permission was wrong but the way “Master of The” reacted was so unethical.

I was just the only one who responded to his reaction that he mentioned me in one of his comments relating me to one blog about about captivating Capiz.

I said that maybe the captivating Capiz blog just wanted to support me, who knows. Honestly, the captivating Capiz blog was a blogger friend and wanted to support me during the contest period. So what? My entries were not even ranking anymore. What was he afraid of? I think this was settled because he stopped making offensive comments on the contest thread.

I also happened to meet Duane, a seo guy who was a friend of Bleuken’s and also of “Master of The’s”. Sorry but I have to say this Duane, if ever you got to read this. I do not need to let you know personally.

He seemed nice but heard some issues about him, Bleuken and “Master of The”. I even heard about Duane from Intiendes.com dated on November 24, 2006 (http ://isulongseoph .intiendes .com /be-humble/).

Then, Duane and I sometimes chat and we talked about his friends, about work and about life. There was one time that he sent to me a message from Renan saying that I am not that helpful because I do not share what I have. I said, I only share to those who deserved it.

And then, Renan and I were starting to have some issues. His recent comments on my blog and on the contest thread were not nice. He said that I was watching his back especially his entries and I should be careful of who I mess with.

Was it my fault that I noticed that his entry for the contest was no longer accessible? Bleuken said my comment was a very healthy comment. I am just a very keen observer as what I told him on the thread. He just responded with a laugh which for me was not so sensible.

I got a feeling that Duane was only being nice to me to get my trust so that I could be comfortable of what I would be sharing to him especially about what I thought of others especially Bleuken and Renan. I could prove that he talked to Renan about me. I also noticed that if I appear invisible to Duane, he doesn’t bother me. If I am visible, he immediately said hello then we talked for a few minutes and then he just signed out but the truth was that he was just invisible.

I do not know with Bleuken but since he did not bother me in any way, I would be considering him as a blogger friend.

I think the issue with “Master of The” was settled so nothing more I can say about him. But with Renan, I hope we can settle this. We have known each other in some way and I tried my best not to offend you. I just cannot take it anymore that was why I told you some things I wasn’t supposed to say to you.

As for Duane, I do not know what you are really up to. So, lets just go on on with our lives and be the best of what we can be.

For everyone, if you think I am associated with other persons, I am not. I am standing alone for this post as a blogger who speaks for itself. I educated myself to be a blogger and I am learning more. I do not only compete with bloggers in my area but also with bloggers all over the world. Actually, I do not consider them as competitors but friends.

I was so embarrassed that the mini-seo contest in Capiz made a negative impression on how the Capiznons behave in a competition. Also, based from the graphical illustration, I realized that the names I have mentioned were related to each other. Who wanted to put down who? I don’t know.

Why not instead of putting someone down, help each other to the top?
