One skill that bloggers need to master is how to turn readers into clients and eventually friends. I do not know how I did it but there was a time that my blog turned my readers into clients through direct advertising. It was like one day, I just received an email offering payment for a review or ad placement. Meeting new friends online especially if you are on the same field of expertise is a good way to find opportunities like this. I just met a friend online whom I never met in person and we developed a good relationship as bloggers. As a result, he gave me opportunities that he had done before. Here’s a proof of what I have earned from his referral:

He had a 20% share from that and I think it is worth the help he did for me. And I can say that the more blogs you have, the more you will get clients. My blogger meter at the sidebar isn’t that high if I just had one blog. A warning though, make sure you will be able to manage and maintain your blogs. If you can’t multi-task, don’t even start. Manage one blog at a time and maintain its rank so that you’ll not loose your clients. One blog with a lot of clients is better than a lot of blogs with no client at all. I forgot to tell you that direct advertising has different types. The following types have examples for you to know what direct advertising is:

• Email - Emails received have subjects like “USD15 for an Ads in Post“, something like that and usually the content would be “Hi, this is from … and I would like to buy an advertising space on you blog specifically on the post …. for $$$. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks.“

• Making Money Online Forums - Joining forum topics about earning more than what is being offered on the site and connecting with the member who started the topic. Eventually, the member will contact those blogs whom the advertiser had chosen.

• Meeting other bloggers - Unexpectedly meeting some bloggers who have direct contact with advertisers already and if trust has been built to one another, they will refer those who are deserving to their clients.

Take note that direct advertising do not just depend from online marketing. Consider the following factors required for you to receive direct advertising offers:

1. A very unique blog content - Even your blog content is not original as long as it is unique, but it is best that your blog content should and must be 80% original.
2. Skills in article writing - Your blog speaks of who you are and you will be judged based on the way you write. So, proofread a couple of times before publishing your blog content for spelling or typographical errors especially the grammar (verbs, adjectives and tenses). Surely, most bloggers have studied English 101 so this will be easy.
3. Motivation - You have to be motivated enough to look for opportunities if you want to earn big. Be resourceful, you use the internet all the time so why not make the most of it.
4. Patience - You are now motivated, the next thing to do is to be patient to wait for the opportunities you are qualified for.
5. A positive outlook - If an advertiser will not chose your blog or cancel the offer, do not feel disappointed. Advertisers may or may not contact you. If they do, then good for you. If they don’t, it’s not your loss. There are a lot of advertisers out there willing to pay you.
